Dr. Maura Hartzman

Dr. Maura Hartzman attended Daoist Traditions for her Master's and Doctoral degrees in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. Her studies emphasized working within integrated settings of Western and Eastern medicine. She uses pulse diagnosis, acupuncture, herbal medicine, stone medicine, essential oils, moxibustion, Qi Gong, and nutrition therapy as a practitioner.

Before studying Chinese Medicine, Dr.Hartzman studied Biology and Medical Anthropology at UNC-Chapel Hill. Her studies informed her choice to study Chinese medicine as it has a strong focus on the personalization of care to support those on their healing journey—a journey unique to each individual.

Rooted in gratitude

Gentle healing. Community building.

Dr. Hartzman is a practitioner with a focus on gentle healing and community building. Her studies come from Asian and white practitioners with an acknowledgment that this medicine has a rich history outside of American influences on the licensing standards created by practitioners of non-Eastern origin. She would not be here today without her teachers, with whom she practices medicine in gratitude for today.
